GENERAL SUMMARY: The freelance editor will work in LA 18 KSCI-TV¡¯s digital media production facility to edit Mandarin-language television programs including dramas, variety shows and news. This position is ideally suited for someone passionate about Chinese television shows.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Edit Chinese language television programs to format for commercial breaks by deadline.
2. Manage editing schedule according to programming and production departments so shows are edited by deadline.
3. Flip the edited shows into various servers for broadcast.
4. Input time codes and show duration into computer and send to Traffic with house numbers by deadline.
5. Quality-control the shows that do not need editing by checking the video and audio quality, and screen program content according to FCC guidelines.
6. Perform miscellaneous duties as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese, written and spoken. This is critical in order to understand story and plot lines. Basic English language ability is also required.

4. Understanding of basic media formats and how to use dubbing systems is essential.
5. Must be able to effectively multitask and work under tight deadlines.
